While carrying out a job, it usually means planning weeks (or months). You hope that the coverage is great pains to sort the preparatory customers, set social media posts and do not have something unexpected when you are away.
But life doesn’t always give you a title. Recently, after two weeks after my father lost my father to brain cancer, I had to take one step from my company. I was struggling with the disease for a while, but when things move quickly and when they looked at the guests, I knew to be a full gift with him and my family. Plan a funeral, to get all his jobs in order, to be there for my loved ones and passed my own sad journey for two weeks. For the first time in my entrepreneurial career, I managed to go completely away and the job ran away.
The money still came. Customers were taken care of. Social media did not miss a tattoo. Suggestions appeared. And reminded why I found my work in the way I did.
If you are in the middle of a personal crisis or not only need a vacation, you should not choose between your life and work. Here are some strategies that you can leave for two weeks and how to apply to your work at the moment.

1. Only “to do” but build a team you trust, not to think
It’s something to have a team that completes tasks. There is something else to have people who can do problems before we wait and the fire is the fire. The real MVPs in my team are more and thinkers. They know our goals, understand our customers and decide. If your team is constantly waiting for your confirmation before confirming, you are the one. I have been this bottle before.
Informing independent thinking and openly identifying the success of success, inform the absence of your team to not be your team. When I had to step, I did not have to be afraid that the cracks would pass because my team was running. Such leadership and trust are priceless.
2. Systemize everything
If your job is only working while working, you don’t have a job – you have a job. The one you have. The key is to obtain everything (especially the knowledge of your head) to the systems that your team can enter. In my work, we use a business management platform to manage all our client projects. Each deadline will be delivered and task. Thus, when someone should take steps (the project manager, when going to maternity leave last year), it is seamless.
Start documenting your processes now. You don’t have to dream. A Google Doc with step-by-step instructions, only works well. If you want to work or sell your business or if you want to sell, documented systems are important.
3. The results are not only tasks
Entrepreneurs are famous for Microokery. I think I can do it faster or better to be in marketing for 20-plus years. However, this mindset restricts the growth.
Instead of giving assignments, entrust the goals. Give “what” to your team and let me understand. This builds confidence, promotes property and often leads to better results than you achieve yourself. This change will allow you to take care of the big picture and take a step when you need it, because your team knows how to advance the ball.

4. Automate everything you can
When I came out, my work was automatically ran through the online payment processing platform. Our emails continued to leave weekly through our CRM system. Social media recordings were prescribed for a month. All happened without lifting one finger.
This is the strength of the machine. Massive technological stack is not necessary. Just look at the duties where you repeat and “can this be automated?”
Think:
- Online planning tools for appointments
- Repetitive invoices and ACH shipping
- CRM email sequence for lead to lead
- Social media planners will remain in a row
These tools will not only save your time, and they will be peaceful for you.

5. There is no experience
This may sound weird but it is important: learn how to go. If your business is unable to work without you, then it doesn’t really expand. Take small steps by preventing the time when not intentional. Skip to a meeting or take a few hours in the middle of the day. Start slowly, but start it.
Finally, when something unexpected happens – or when an interesting opportunity emerges, you will be able to move away from everything separately. Entrepreneurship is going out of freedom. Not only financial freedom, but also freedom of time. It doesn’t matter if you have a journey you dreamed of getting a private or just taking it; You need to make sure that you will move away from your work and not to be in your absence.
I didn’t build this kind of work overnight. For years, the growth of a team that I can grow and an incorrect, staff, automation and forgotten, have been an easy team. But I can tell you from experience: it’s worth it. Because when life happens – and this is the last thing you need to worry about, your work is not living without you.
